Hello!
Wow, a lot going on here for your pal Ross. I’m included in Thirty West’s “Best of Ten Years” anthology, where they picked short pieces from myself and fellow writers whose work has been published on the press. It’s a very limited run—only 40—and they’re hand-sewn, numbered and embossed chapbooks. Potential collectors item. Pick them up here.
In the last couple of days, I’ve been invited to a book club that’s reading Pepperleaf, as well as to a virtual reading with my grad school. Summer is almost over, and things are picking up. It’s been cool to see Pepperleaf get out there in the world, and hear from friends, family, and people I’ve never met who appreciated the book.
That said, amidst the busyness, I’ve been able to get back to work on new projects. I’m revisiting a novel I shelved and hated (I think I said that at my book release party when asked what I was working on). But lo and behold, I had a sudden epiphany about the book and returned to it and saw how it could become, well, much better. I’ve already cut 40 pages and suspect that rather than being a novel, it will be a novella, which is great. Never written one. Good excuse to learn.
All the best,
Ross
