Summertime vacation brought me to this beautiful place above for the last week. In the meantime, I had a story published in Post Road Magazine (of Boston College, go Eagles). It’s called “Libidonomics,” and as the name suggests, it’s a wee bit satirical, and the topic is not one that my mother would find enjoyable. But she’s had to suffer through far worse from me than a little satire.
The other news is a couple of events coming up. The first is a reading at the new Brick and Mortar bookstore in Redmond, WA in early October, in support of the WA129 Anthology I was lucky enough to place a poem in. For those who don’t know, the WA 129 is a compilation of 129 Washington poets, one for each year of statehood. The poems were chosen by our state Poet Laureate, Tod Marshall, so I’m doubly honored to be a part of it. I’ll post more details as the date gets closer.
The second bit of news is that the Richard Hugo House is hosting my book release party February 6th at the Fireside Room in the swanky Sorrento Hotel in downtown Seattle! We’re still a long way out from the event, but it’s great to have it on the calendar.
